Well, a dream sort of died a couple days ago. I had a sense that my
condo mortgage had hit a hitch when the bank asked the realtor for
more information about a lawsuit the condo was involved in.
Though they were the plaintiff, not the defendant, the bank asked a
simple question: what happens if you don’t win the $1.7 million
you’re seeking, who pays for the repairs to the exterior of the
building then?
The obvious answer would be the condo owners.
Plus the bank didn’t like the 50K deductible on the flood insurance
policy, which I wasn’t aware of and didn’t want to buy supplemental
insurance, so since my bank denied the mortgage request, I decided
not to try to find an alternate lender.
There will be another building somewhere that has better terms, and
when we find it, we’ll hopefully not go through this long gruesome
mortgage application process again, though I’m glad we did, it sure
protected us from possible problems down the road this time.
So it’s back to business as usual, let’s see what’s been happening
in the forum.
