Good morning. Yes, one week closer to the end
of the pandemic, or relative end at least, where
we can start living somewhat normally again.
For now, I’d just be happy if they allow the
barber shops to open again. 
Personally, this week hasn’t been fun for me.
My wife and I went down to our shore condo
over the weekend, and since it was a holiday
weekend, normally we would have stayed through
Monday night.
But because nothing was open, we drove back
on the holiday Monday morning.
And then I decided to go to the office for
a couple hours…
Never happened. On the way, another driver
decided to ignore a stop sign and enter the
intersection where I was driving so nicely.
Bang. The impact launched my car into first
another car parked in the street, then
careened off that onto a lawn, through
one fence, and then the neighbor’s fence,
and then off another car, and back toward
the street over a bicycle (the rider jumped
off thankfully and “just” hurt her back).
Meanwhile my brakes weren’t working but
somewhat miraculously my car came to a
stop right before a stop sign at a major
intersection 2 blocks away.
I wasn’t hurt enough to complain about it,
but now I have to spend time with the
insurance companies and the body shop
and a car dealer (my car was totaled).
I actually didn’t see much of what was
happening because the air bags were in
my face and my glasses were knocked off,
but the police report was interesting.
Very scary while in progress and the
car refusing to stop.
I consider myself very fortunate that
the impact was on the front driver’s
side front rather that about 2 feet closer
to the center of the car, where it
could have done as much damage
to my body as it did to the car’s.
So, needless to say, this week has been
sort of unproductive, but this too shall
pass.
I trust you had a better week than I had
and that next week we’ll all have nothing
but great things happen to us.
