Good morning.
The Olympics are here, do you care? A short
poll in our IM Inside Track group shows that
a lot of people are saying… meh.
It’s a shame because they were postponed
because of the pandemic last year, for good
reason, yet almost the same reason exists
still in Japan due to low vaccination rates
and other factors.
I hear there’s a typhoon on the way there
now which certainly could cause a bit of
a problem.
I feel sad for the athletes who train so
long and so hard and often only get one
chance to go for the gold or even just to
be able to say they were there.
With no spectators this time.
It reminds me of the question, if a tree falls
in the woods and no one is around, does it
make a sound?
Well, at least there are TV cameras catching
their every move, if they’re the elite ones.
If they’re not, they’re like the tree, but
maybe if they’re lucky there’s a photo op.
Good luck to all athletes of all nations,
and I hope your country shines.
Me? I’ll probably watch a little bit of
the games on TV when there’s no baseball
game of my favorite team in progress.
Or I’ll try to get some work done
instead.
