Good morning.
If you’re in the U.S., I hope you enjoy your
long Labor Day holiday weekend.
This week has been rather challenging.
The weather has been mostly magnificent,
with one very brief, very powerful, very
intense period of rain from Tropical Storm
Ida, which dumped about 7 inches of rain
on us in just a few hours, and then gone.
Our power was out for about 5 hours
during the night, but then restored, so
no major harm done.
I slept through much of it, but neighbors
said our street was like a river.
As luck would have it, I had scheduled a
roofer to come and repair loose shingles
from the last storm, and he was scheduled
for the morning after the storm.
By then, we were back to absolutely
magnificent weather with warm days and
relatively cool nights, with much lower
humidity.
I asked the roofer how much longer I
could expect my (old) roof to last, and
he said maybe a year. So I had better get
busy earning enough to get that done. 
Meanwhile, I hope you have a spectacular
