Good morning, and whatever holiday(s)
you celebrate, I hope they’re happy and
healthy.
We weren’t expecting a white Christmas
this year, but I woke up to snow on the
lawn and on my car’s windshield, so
there you go. Nice and fluffy and no
need to shovel. Perfect.
Lots of people around here aren’t working
at all today, on Christmas Eve, but I
always have (especially when in retail)
and I suspect I always will.
I do plan on leaving the office a bit
early today to get some last minute
groceries ahead of our traditional
Christmas brunch with our daughter-in-
law and granddaughter.
We’ve seen them so seldom since the
pandemic began that it’s definitely
something to look forward to.
My granddaughter’s Christmas wish
was for something I thought had gone
out of style back when I was very
young… a bean bag chair.
Not just any bean bag chair, but one
with a unicorn cover.
I seem to recall bean bags were nowhere
near as expensive back in my day, but
then again, gasoline was 29.9 cents a
gallon then too, a postage stamp cost
3 cents, and I seem to remember that
my first new car cost around $2000
(a Datsun).
Are any of those items any better today
than then? Well, maybe the cars are a
little safer now, but… wow.
Anyway, with omicron ripping through
the world like wildfire, my hopes and
prayers are that you avoid it, like I
plan to.
