Good morning.
It’s starting to feel a lot like
fall has arrived, which it did
yesterday.
I actually turned off the air
conditioning in the house this
morning. I try not to turn on
the heat until at least October
and hope I can resist this year,
but I don’t know.
This was supposed to be a good
week, it really was. My wife was
scheduled to be discharged from
rehab on Tuesday, and I was busy
cleaning the house in anticipation
of her arrival after nearly two
months away, but…
On Sunday we noticed redness and
swelling on one of her legs, and
the doctor had to be consulted to
look at it. That postponed the
Tuesday discharge while she was
given antibiotics, and then…
On Tuesday, she tested positive for
Covid, and though she doesn’t feel
any symptoms, they’ve moved her to
a separate section of the facility
and haven’t indicated if or when
she’ll be cleared to go home.
If it isn’t one thing, it’s another.
I’m just very thankful that she
doesn’t feel the effects of the
disease because she’s very weak
from her bout with pneumonia that
started all this, and still regaining
the strength to walk.
Obviously I’ve been in close contact
with her and with the nurses there
that are probably carriers. They
tested me yesterday before they let
me visit her and I tested negative.
I did take the precaution of getting
the latest version of the booster
this week.
If I had a regular job, I don’t know
how I’d function, because I’ve been
taking extra time away and piecing
together a schedule to get things
done, while planning for being as
much of a caregiver as possible when
she does return home.
Thank goodness, I don’t remember the
last time I had a regular schedule
where I couldn’t get away on demand.
I wish the same for you, and hope
your week/month is going better than
mine.
This too shall pass, I pray for
sooner rather than later.
Have a spectacular week.

there is much more going on all the time at the

and as you can see from the above sample threads,
there’s a lot of that happening.
